Dear Sir,
I am sorry to say I have been greatly surprised and
disappointed, by an unsatisfactory report of Miss Browne, one of
the Nurses sent from this School to Hong Kong last September;
which I received from Miss Eastmond, the Head Sister at the
The
Civil Hospital Hong Kong, by last mail; I fear Miss Browne has
been very imprudent by her own confession, as she was talking
with one of the Junior Ward Masters, in her room when she was on
night duty, and he ought to have been also at his work, in another
Block.
I can only say that I always found her most steady, and
reliable in her conduct here, both with the Medical Staff and the
patients or I should not have thought of recommending her for
any post. Although she is without doubt in fault, I, cannot help
feeling that she has been harshly judred; Miss Fastmond speaks
of her dismissal as imminent, and she had been suspended from
duty.
